Weight Loss After 30
by Tonia
(Helsinki)
I always used to be slim, but after turning 30 I suddenly felt like I could no longer eat anything I wanted and still not gain weight.
I have been interested in nutrition for a long time, but have still been eating cookies, chocolate, sandwiches and things like that all my life. But I have also always loved salads and fruits, which is a good thing.
After I realized I can't continue eating just anything anymore, I started researching a bit about what I could do to change my way of eating.
I'm over 30 and don't do much sport at all, and I don't like counting calories.
So when I found something called the raw food diet, where you can eat a lot - as long as it is raw, like for example fruits and vegetables, seeds, nuts, sprouts, seaweed etc. I was interested right away.
You don't need to count calories when you are "raw", but of course you need to leave out things like chocolate and other cooked foods and you need to start get used to making new raw recipes for all your meals. This is not always easy, but it has worked for me and for many others.
I admit that it is not that easy to stay on this diet, but that is the problem with most diets anyway, right?
With raw food though, you are supposed to make it your way of eating for life, so it is not something you just do until you have lost the weight you wanted to lose.
Wish you all good luck with the healthy weight loss.
