Sheryl, try having a glass of ice cold water every hour on the hour. Keep a bottle with you at all times: at work, in the car, in your purse or backpack. You'll be amazed at how quickly you begin to crave water! For me, it's all about being ice cold, although I have a friend who drinks warm water with lemon all day.
An easy way to get in your fruit servings is to have a smoothie for breakfast or a snack. Just mix a cup of skim milk, 1/2 cup of fat-free plain yogurt, a banana, and some frozen berries in a blender. It will be easy and delicious and taste like dessert!
I solved the vegetable problem by making a big pot of vegetable soup once a week, and eating off it the entire week! I take a bowl to work for lunch or start dinner with a bowl. I just mix low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth with canned tomatoes, chopped onions, celery, carrots, yellow squash, zucchini, bell peppers, and cabbage, and add some seasonings. It's easy, low in calories, satisfying, and super healthy!
