The Atkins Diet is easy! They say you can lose up to 15 pounds in your first two weeks and it’s true!
In order for the Atkins diet to work you MUST follow it EXACTLY as it is laid out. This program encourages the consumption of lean meat proteins, veggies, high fiber fruits and whole grains.
It may be tempting to be lazy and eat steak and eggs with bacon and sausage at every meal. That is not the healthy approach! You must do this diet correctly in order to achieve long term success and for the weight to stay off. If you do not follow it exactly it could be harmful to your health!
Throughout my childhood years I was a healthy, thin weight. When I had my first child at the age of 22, and a divorce that soon followed, I allowed my weight to increase. I went from 105 pounds (gaining only 17 pounds during my pregnancy) to 150 pounds, within one year!
I eventually re-married and seven years later, I gave birth to my second child. My pre-pregnancy weight was 165 and my weight the day I had my son was 191 pounds!
When my son was 8 years old, I topped the scale at 212 pounds! This was about the same time I came across the Dr. Atkins book. I read it twice before I decided to commit.
I lost 14.6 pounds in my first 12 days on the program!! Within 5 months I went from 212 pounds to 158 pounds! I began getting a lot of wonderful compliments and I celebrated the WRONG WAY – with food! It took about 3 weeks of ice cream, and junk to even gain 1 pound, but then it began and I allowed it to continue...
This diet will work – you just have to commit to a healthy lifestyle.
